The District of Invermere is committed to managing the community’s physical growth in a way that fosters a strong local economy, respect for the natural environment, and the extraordinary quality of life that our area is known for.

The Planning Department is responsible for planning the development of the community; for implementing related strategies, policies and regulations; and for preparing and administering land use regulations and bylaws. It handles zoning, development permits, planning initiatives, and land use applications.

The Planning Department also gathers statistical information on the community and acts as a source of information for people who are interested in local investment.
