Mayor Al Miller - Welcome to Invermere!

Nestled between the Purcells and the Rocky Mountains in the beautiful Columbia Valley, you will find Invermere on the Lake. Located in southeastern British Columbia, Invermere is the perfect place to call home. With ideal weather conditions on the warm side of the Rockies, you can enjoy our lakes, hot springs, a variety of golf courses and farmers’ markets, world-class hiking and biking trails, two mountain ski resorts, ziplining and the home of the Whiteway, the world’s longest outdoor skating trail that also provides a cross country ski track around Lake Windermere. Invermere is also the home of Columbia Valley Arts, which showcases our local culture and the multi-talented individuals who live in the Invermere area. We are fortunate to have the world-renowned Columbia Wetlands – one of the longest intact wetlands in North America – at our doorstep. This enables us to host the Wings over the Rockies event in our Valley each spring, to enjoy our feathered friends as well as all the wildlife living in and around the area.

So it is with great pleasure that I welcome you to come for a visit and stay for a while. You will not be disappointed and, chances are, you’ll start planning your next trip back – or, better yet, decide to stay. Come, relax and wind down. The welcome mat is always out.

Regards,
Mayor Al Miller
