Climate Change Adaption
The District of Invermere is committed to minimizing the impact of Climate Change.
On April 13th, 2010, the Greenhouse Emission Reduction Strategy was adopted by Council and the following targets were integrated into the OCP:
- 20% Corporate Emission reduction by 2015
- 33% Corporate Emission reduction by 2020
- 4.5% Community Wide Emission reduction by 2015
- 6% Community Wide Emission reduction by 2020

The District has also enacted an Anti-Idling bylaw, whereby no person shall cause or permit a vehicle to idle for more than three (3) consecutive minutes (with some exceptions).
