Recent Extreme Weather Event in the District of Invermere Notice to Residents and Businesses
On Friday July 2nd, 2021 between 1:30 pm and 2:30 pm, the District of Invermere experienced an extreme weather event that included torrential hail and rain. The event resulted in localized flooding and damage to numerous businesses and residences in the community.
The District of Invermere is asking local businesses and residents to report any damages that they experienced in order to help determine the full scope and impact of the extreme weather event, and to help support an application to the Province for potential disaster financial assistance.
If you experienced damage to your business and/or property as a result of the storm, please fill out a property damage report by using the following secure link: https://engage.rdek.bc.ca/weatherevent.
You will be asked to provide the following information:

- Do you have insurance coverage for the damage/loss that occurred?
Please attach at least one photo showing the damage (you can attach a maximum of five photographs). Please let us know if you have additional photos or video that you would like to send the District.
If you were impacted by the extreme weather event, please be sure to check with your insurance company to see if you are already covered for flooding and other damage. It is also important that you keep all receipts related to the clean-up and repair of your property.
Please note the deadline to submit damage reports is July 16th, 2021 at 4:00 pm.
