Valley Appreciation Day – July 19th
Valley Appreciation Day is back and we are excited to once again celebrate all the wonderful things our beautiful Columbia Valley has to offer! This popular family-friendly event will be held on Saturday July 19th from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm, following Bull Riding in the Rockies the night before on Friday, July 18th. Taking place for over 37 years, Valley Appreciation Day began as a way to say “thank you” to the many visitors who support our local businesses. It has since grown into a full celebration of the Columbia Valley lifestyle!
Downtown Invermere will come alive with:
- The service clubs’ complimentary pancake breakfast held from 9am-noon in front of the Invermere Legion on 13th St.
- Live entertainment on the Invermere Home Hardware stage in front of Manulife Financial and around the downtown.
- The Invermere Farmers and Artists Market in the Lakeview Parking Lot ( Lot behind Arena) from 9am-1pm.
- Interactive booths and family activities for all ages on a section of 13th St, section of 12th St and around downtown.
Important Parking Notice:
Please be advised of the following parking restrictions in Invermere from Friday July 18th-19th.
Lakeview Parking Lot (large lot behind the Arena):
No overnight parking from Friday, July 18th to Saturday, July 19th.This area is reserved for the Invermere Farmers & Artists Market on Saturday July 19th from 9am-1pm. All vehicles must be removed by 6:00 am on Saturday, July 19th or they will be towed at owner’s expense.
13th St: No overnight parking to accommodate Valley Appreciation Day activities from Lambert Kipp Pharmacy to Invermere Curling Club. All vehicles must also be moved by 6:00am! Towing will be enforced in both areas.
A few reminders:
- Please do not drink and drive, especially after the Bull Riding event on Friday July 18th.
- If you are attending evening events and you must leave your car overnight, please park on side streets, in the Old Community Hall parking lot, or other areas away from the event zones.
