Public Road Closure Notice – Light Up Celebration & Santa Claus Parade
The District of Invermere invites everyone to join us in welcoming the holiday season at the Light Up Celebration and Santa Claus Parade in Downtown Invermere!
To help keep the event safe and enjoyable for all, please review the important road closures, safety reminders, and event details below.
📅 Date: Saturday, November 29, 2025
⏰ Start Time: 6:00 PM
🚩 Start Location: Pothole Park (5A St)
➡️ Parade Route: Travels along 7th Ave and finishes at the Eddie Mountain Memorial Arena on 13th St.
🚫 Road Closures & Parking Restrictions
In effect from 5:00 PM to approximately 7:30 PM.
The following areas will be closed to traffic and parking:
- 5A St and 9th Ave near Pothole Park (parade staging area).
- 7th Ave from 4th St (Telus building) to 13th St.
- All cross streets intersecting 7th Ave (Downtown Invermere).
- 13th St ending at the Eddie Mountain Memorial Arena.
- 12th St (Closed at 12:00 PM / noon) – L8 Band & tree lighting after the parade with Santa.
Please expect delays, increased traffic, and limited access during these times.
⚠️ Safety Reminders
Your safety is our top priority!
- Please stay on the sidewalks and curbs while watching the parade.
- Parade floats will NOT be throwing items (including candy canes). Any giveaways will be handed directly to spectators standing at the curb/sidewalk.
- Watch for parade participants and follow directions from event staff and volunteers.
