District of Invermere Supports Physician Recruitment

On March 26, 2024, Invermere Council directed that the District of Invermere provide up to $10,000 in additional funds to the Columbia Valley Chamber of Commerce to support efforts to recruit physicians to live and work near the Invermere and District Hospital.

“It is well known that the Columbia Valley Chamber of Commerce has worked diligently for many years with Interior Health as well as local physicians and medical professionals to help recruit other physicians to establish medical practices in the Columbia Valley. In recognition of that work, and the importance that all Columbia Valley residents have access to medical physicians, the District of Invermere is offsetting a funding gap left by the RDEK in its 2024 Budget.”
