Orange Shirt Day – Film Screening Sept 30 2023

National Day for Truth & Reconciliation Day takes place on Saturday September 30th, 2023. The Shuswap Band News is organizing a walk to the Columbia Valley Centre in honour of the children who survived the Residential Schools and to remember those who did not. The Secwepemc Honour Song will be sung upon arrival ( bring your drums). Shortly after there will be a film screening of “Bones of Crows.”

This event will create a meaningful opportunity for our communities to come together and learn more about the tragic history of residential schools and the ongoing intergenerational trauma that is fundamental to reconciliation.

Please wear orange if you have it! This event is open to all who wish to attend!
