Canada Day Parade Road Closures

 In Community, Home

There will be road closures in downtown Invermere on Saturday, July 1st 2023, during the annual Canada Day Parade. The roads used for the parade route will start to close at approx.10:00 am and will reopen at the conclusion of the parade at approx. 11:45am. Barricades will be placed at all intersections and crossroads along 7th Ave. The parade this year will begin at 11:00am.

The parade staging area will take place on 9th Ave/5A St by Pothole Park. Our parade route this year will be from the north corner of Pothole Park, down 7th Ave, through the 13th St intersection to 14 St. (Exit routes will be via 4 Ave behind the Arena, 14 A St to 15 St around past Red Apple, or 14 Ave to the beach).

The Invermere Farmers & Artists Market will also be taking place from 9am-1pm in the Lakeview Parking Lot. Parking will be open along the parade route but will be closed to vehicle traffic. During road closures, vehicles must remain parked along the parade route until the parade is over. Motorists are encouraged to park at the old community hall parking lot & the Columbia Valley Centre Parking Lot, with a very short walk to downtown!

Expect traffic delays before the parade and after the parade and adjust your travel plans accordingly. Motorists are reminded to drive safely and pay particular attention to pedestrians in the Downtown area! Please be patient and courteous to help to make the trip to and from the parade safe for everyone.

Please see map of the parade route.
