Streets, Sidewalks & Parking
To report a pothole or other concern regarding District streets sidewalks, email info@invermere.net or call the District office at 250-342-9281 or submit a complaint.
In the winter months, Snow & Ice Control Operations endeavour to maintain municipal streets and sidewalks in a safe and passable condition. Snow & Ice Control services are not intended to eliminate all hazardous conditions on District streets or sidewalks at all times. They are intended to assist vehicles that are properly equipped for winter driving and being operated in consistent good winter driving habits.
Snow and Ice Control Operations occur in a priority sequence, and are available on a 24-hour per day basis, 7 days a week during the winter season.
For more information and a detailed breakdown of Priority Streets within the District, please refer to pages 2 and 3 of the Snow and Ice Control Policy:
Sidewalks
For sidewalks, property owners or occupiers are responsible for removing snow, ice or rubbish from the sidewalk and footpaths on a road right of way adjacent to the property owned or occupied by them within 24 hours of the accumulation.
Parking
When visiting downtown Invermere, there is street parking available throughout the town centre, and there is a large public parking area called the Lake View Parking Lot that is accessed via the alley behind 7th Avenue (back side of Bank of Montreal) or behind 13th Street (back side of the arena and BC Liquor Store).
Parking is free with no time limits. Please be respectful of local businesses when using downtown street parking— the Lake View Parking Lot is more suitable for longer term parking.
Overnight parking is not permitted.
