13th Avenue Construction Update
The District of Invermere is receiving lots of enquires about when the new asphalt paving will be happening on 13th Avenue and 15th Street. As of right now, we unfortunately do not yet have dates scheduled for the completion of this work. The contractor (MarWest) is working with a local subcontractor to finalize the dates for when the asphalt plant will open, and when the paving crew can schedule this work in. When we have a firm date, that information will be posted by the District. Until the asphalt is placed, MarWest is responsible for the ongoing upkeep of these two dirt roads. MarWest maintains both roads regularly; however, gravel and dust control upkeep is very difficult with the high volume of traffic moving on these roads; especially 13th Avenue. Please use caution and travel slowly when driving on the unpaved sections of 13th Avenue and 15th Street.
