Election Officials Needed | 2026 General Local Election

The District of Invermere is looking for Election Officials to help run the polls on General Voting Day for the 2026 General Local Election, Saturday, October 17, 2026.

About the Role

Working under the direction of the Chief Election Officer, Election Officials help register voters, issue ballots, guide people through the voting process, and assist at the ballot tabulator.

No previous election experience is needed. Full training will be provided (training date to be confirmed).

 

Eligibility

To be eligible, you must:

  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Not be a candidate, or the spouse, sibling, parent, child, grandparent, or grandchild of a candidate running in the 2026 General Local Election
  • Be available to work a full day on General Voting Day, Saturday, October 17, 2026 (approximately 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.)
  • Attend a mandatory paid training session (date to be confirmed closer to the election)
  • Have strong communication and customer service skills, and be comfortable working with the public
