Canada Day in Invermere 2026
Join us in Downtown Invermere for a full day of Canada Day celebrations, community spirit, and family friendly fun on Wednesday, July 1!
Fireworks – June 30
The celebrations begin on the evening of June 30 with the annual fireworks display presented by the Kinsmen Club of Windermere Valley. The fireworks will light up the sky at midnight by the Eddie Mountain Memorial Arena as we welcome Canada Day.
Canada Day Parade – July 1
Head downtown Invermere for one of Invermere’s most beloved traditions.
The annual Canada Day Parade begins at 11:00 am, starting near Pothole Park and travelling along Invermere’s Main Street (7th Ave) to the Eddie Mountain Memorial Arena on 13th St.
This year’s parade theme is “Canada Through the Decades.” Spectators can look forward to decorated floats, classic vehicles, community groups, music, costumes, and plenty of Canadian pride.

Mountain Mosaic Festival
Following the parade, head to the Pynelogs greenspace beside Kinsmen Beach for the Mountain Mosaic Festival, presented by Columbia Valley Arts from12:00 pm – 4:00 pm.
Enjoy an afternoon of art, culture, live entertainment, family activities, and community connection in a beautiful lakeside setting.
Locals Live Concert
Wrap up your Canada Day celebrations with the first Locals Live concert of the season.
Featuring Rockinomix from 6:30 pm – 8:00pm in Pothole Park.
Bring a lawn chair, gather with friends and family and enjoy a great evening of free live music
Canada Day Road Closures and Traffic Information
To ensure the safety of parade participants and spectators, temporary road closures will be in effect throughout Downtown Invermere on Wednesday, July 1.
Road Closures Begin at 9:00 am.
Road closures and parade staging activities will begin at 9:00 am in the downtown core.
The parade staging area will be located beside Pothole Park along 9th Ave and 5A St. Parade participants will begin arriving and assembling at approximately 10:00 am. Residents and visitors are asked not to park in this area prior to or during parade setup.
Parade Route
The Canada Day Parade begins at 11:00 am near Pothole Park on 5A St and travels along 7th Ave (Main Street) before concluding at the Eddie Mountain Memorial Arena on 13th St.
Road closures will be in effect along the parade route, including:
- 4th St and 7th Ave intersection.
- Intersections along 7th Ave.
- 7th Ave and 13th St intersection.
There will be no parking permitted along the parade route during closure times. Roads are expected to reopen approximately one hour after the parade concludes.
Traffic Detours
Motorists should expect delays and are encouraged to plan ahead. Traffic will be detoured via 4th St and 10th Ave.
Access for emergency vehicles will be maintained at all times.
Spectator Safety
For everyone’s safety:
- Remain on sidewalks and behind the curb at all times.
- Do not stand, sit, or walk on the parade route.
- Supervise children closely.
- Once the parade has begun, crossing the parade route will not be permitted.
