12th Street Gathering Space (Seasonal Pedestrian Zone)
Each summer, the District of Invermere turns a section of 12th Street into a pedestrian‑only gathering space. This seasonal space offers seating, room to relax, and space for community activities in the heart of downtown.
What’s happening
- A portion of 12th Street will be closed to vehicle traffic
- The space includes seating and room for community programming and events
- The Gathering Space is open to everyone — residents and visitors alike
Key dates
- Set‑up begins: Monday, May 11
Barricades will be in place while crews prepare the space. - Opening day: Friday, May 15
- Season runs until: September 30
What to expect during set‑up

Parking and access
- Parking in front of the Invermere Post Office remains open and accessible throughout the pedestrian season.
How you can help
- If you notice umbrellas left open when no one is using the space, especially on windy days, please help by closing them. This helps keep the area safe and protects the equipment.
