James Chabot Provincial Park, formerly known as Athalmer Beach Provincial Park, is located three kilometres off Highway 93/95 on Athalmer Road on the way into downtown Invermere (the park is situated two kilometres from Invermere town centre). It is named for James Chabot, MLA for Columbia-Revelstoke from 1963 to 1986.

This beautiful day-use park sits at the northeast end of Lake Windermere and includes a large sandy beach backed by open, grassy play areas with picnic tables, an adventure playground, a volleyball court, washroom facilities, and an elevated boardwalk trail.

The park offers stunning views of the Rocky Mountains and Lake Windermere, and is popular for swimming, stand-up paddleboarding, canoeing, kayaking, windsurfing and more.
